can MFC be used to control MainStage3?

Just got MainStage 3 and would like to be able to control backing tracks with my MFC while at the same time being in axe mode on MFC.

I'm uneducated when it comes to midi and really don't know where to start. From reading previous threads, I'm inclined to think its not easily done as Sean is using MainStage with a bluetooth
foot controller, and if anyone would know how...he would be in that group.

You can definitely control mainstage with the mfc. I'm not sure if axe mode changes that though. Most likely you need to use a separate midi interface. Use your axe out/thru into the interface. I always had problems when trying to use my axe as the midi interface into mainstage. The messages don't show up right. I use mainstage for all my keyboard stuff. I also change patches with my Ipad and liquid foot pro. The Mainstage users group on facebook is a good place to ask questions too, if you haven't already found it.
