Can I safely audition presets downloaded from axechange with axe-edit?

With so many great presets uploaded by users on axechange I want to know how I can listen to them without corrupting things in my Axe-Fx.

I do it all the time with Edit. You could do it via midi and Snoize like we use to update the Ultra.
 
I was under the impression that the issues with Axe edit were not in transferring information but in using it for editing...is that accurate? There are some patches I'd like to grab as well, so clarification would be helpful.
 
Some people have had edit problems, not all. The only way to determine if your system is one of those is to try it.
 
Personally, I haven't had too many issues with Axe-Edit other than it does crash on me once every few days and I'm using version 8.01a.
 
ive had problems with AE, but not in auditioning presets-- only when i edit sometimes. Always hit save before switching presets in AE!!
