Can I recreate this sound with my FX8...

At 2.47 in this track there is a cool sound which to my ears sounds a bit like an airplane flanger, but in my efforts haven't been able to get it. Any suggestions gratefully received!

thats a synth - try automating a filter sweep

OK I have never used filters.
Am guessing i add a filter block and then a modifier?

Exactly.. if you look at how a synth filter sweep works and then mimic that you'd be getting pretty close... of course... you might need to filter the sound before the sweep... so maybe like a formant or something then the filter...

Google: filter sweep DAW and you'll see some tutorials which explain the concept... you could also do the sweep with a expression pedal if you had one...
