Can I record FM3 on iPad?

Wondering if someone knows if this is possible and knows how to do it and what cables I need to buy?

I'm using an iPad 7th the gen for now and I'd like to record some tracks. I'm assuming I'll have to do it on garageband? Any other good daw for ipad or am good with GB?

For cable I just need the lighting to usb adaptor right? There is a normal and a usb 3.0 option, the later being more expensive. Should I get the 3.0 or the normal one?

Any help is really appreciated! Thanks

I don't know if it works with FM3 but it does with Axe Fx III, using the Apple Camera Connection kit.

I don't know if the FM3 is a class-compliant USB or not...

If it is then that should work.

I would recommend buying the official Apple cable as others may or may not work.

So the FM3 having audio interface capabilities isn't enough? :( Damn

I have no idea what is class compliant usb... Do you know how can I check if it's or not?

@Admin M@ @FractalAudio @BryantP any of you guys could help me with your knowledge?

Thanks

Sure, that works fine. The FM3 is class-compliant. You can record into GB or Cubasis or other apps running on your iPad.

Thank you very much! Do you only if it makes any difference to buy the normal adapter vs the usb 3.0 one? Thanks!

If you want FM3 audio in your videos, you need to connect the FM3 and Camera kit before opening the camera app.

There's this 2 models:

The 39usd one comes with an additional usb c port but don't know if that's the right one.

If someone knows and can tell, thanks!
Just tried connecting my FM3 to my iPhone using the Apple Lightning to USB adaptor and a USB-A to USB-B cable. I was able to record tracks using Garage Band.

I haven’t tried the one with the USB-C port, but this is the one that I tried and it worked:

I'm using an iPad 7th so camera isn't great so I'm recording video through my cellphone (not iphone) and audio through iPad. I'll be using kinemaster to combine both (don't know if it's possible, hopefully it'll be!)

By the way guys... I'm starting guitar lessons soon... Wondering if there's a way to do everything on iPad:
Using zoom in ipad to transmit with FM3 connected so my teachers listens the sound from the FM3 and not from the iPad mic.

Thanks!
