Cabinet block question and observation.

I've been working on some recordings and am using both an FM3 and a Boss GT1000 because the Roland Jazz Chorus model of the Boss GT1000 is better than the FM3's version of it. What I tried to do was run the GT1000 into the input of the FM3 and use a preset that was just a cabinet block, but the end result was REALLY BAD. It was full of static and distorted in a really bad way. Is the Cabinet block of the FM3 designed to only "play nice" with a signal from an FM3 amp block or is there something I'm missing? The built in IRs of the Boss GT1000 are decent, but not up to Fractal standards.

It sounds like you may have been clipping the input of the FM3. You probably want to use Input 2 for this because Input 1 is for instrument level signals. I sometimes use the FM3 for IRs and effects with a real amp and load box, it works great.
