cab sim question

I am running a stereo solid state power amp into 2 boogie cabs. im getting conflicting opinions about the use of a cab sim in my effect path. I understand the reasoning for a cab sim.. DI ect but some people are telling me it should be in line to better create over all tone. YES or NO to cab sim in my path going out to a live pwr amp / cab set up ? Im looking for an 80's metal tone. Queensryche , dokken ect..
Thank You

Technically no. If you are using an actual guitar cab you shouldn't simulate one at the same time.

A small few have found it "better" to use them. But definitely try it without a cab sim/block first.

At the end of the day, it's really just an incredibly complex EQ, so, if you like how it sounds with it in the chain, leave it.
