After being chosen as one of the winner of the ML Sound Lab contest, I thought I should give my 2 cents about the cab pack I won.
I chose the Cab Pack 13: ML USA Bulb 4x12 UltraRes™. Here's a quick test I did:
There are 2 things that seems to be constants about the ML Sound Lab IRs:
1. There isn't a single IR that's useless. Believe me, I tried them all.
2. They are versatile. I tried a bunch of them with lots of different amps and gain settings and they worked GREAT.
I'm really amazed by this cab pack and by how clear and defined it sounds. There are 2 left and 2 right guitars in this clip and I'm using a fair ammount of gain (5153 red) and still you can hear the chords ringing beautifully. Keep in mind that the guitar is an Ernie Ball Music Man JP6, and the pickups have a high output, unlike Misha's Juggernauts (that have lower output and a more defined tone).
This was literally my first test/recording with this cab pack, so I can't wait to see further results I'll get from it!
I'm a big fan of adding multiple mics to get a bigger tone. In this clip I used:
ML USA Bulb E906 A1 + ML USA Bulb R121 C3 for left guitar.
ML Misha Mix 03 USA Bulb + ML USA Bulb R121 C3 for right guitar.
