Cab Idea, What Say You?

I had the idea recently of having a somewhat unique cab built for me specifically for the Axe-FX. My idea is to have a slightly deep oversized 4x12 built with each speaker partitioned (essentially a 4-1x12 cab) with some insulation padding the back of the cab. I feel like this paired with the right speakers would be ideal for running the unit incorporating the speaker sims.

If you want to use the cab sims, you'll want full-range, reasonably flat-response speakers. That rules out guitar speakers. Walling off your 4x12 into separate compartments will change the voicing of the cab. If you want to be happy with the results using the Axe's cab sims, you'll want to design your system—both speakers and cabs—for flat, full-range sound.

Short answer: you'll get a 4-small-cabs experience, but probably not the sound you're looking for.
