Building Pedals

So I've got way to much free time so I'm looking to start building some pedals. My question is thus....if I would like to build an expression pedal type pedal that is controlled by one large knob....how do I know what type resistors to get? As in the number of OHMS

I have a 10k linear potentiometer (variable resistor) in my Ernie Ball VP Jr that works great with my MFC-101.

All you need is to get a 10k linear pot and hook it up to a TRS jack and youre in business.

i ripped the guts out of dunlop gcb95 crybabys and kept the 100k hot potz in there, works fine, taper may be alittle awkward, but if anything response taper may be adjusted on the axe, so anything i have controller by the expression pedal has the same taper.

10K is best for experssion pedals though according to several sources. seems to be the standard value in expression pedals.
