Boss FS-5U with MFC101

I want to get a couple Boss FS-5U footswitches to use for looping on my Ultra. Do I want the Momentary version or the Latching version? I'm only going to be using these for looping. I would use the switchable FS-6, but it requires a battery. Stupid!

Definitely momentary. Latching will basically result in the function you want only occurring when you click the switch on, and nothing happening when you click it off.

So, with a momentary switch will I have to keep my foot on the switch the whole time I'm recording, or will it be 1st press, record, 2nd press, recording stops/loop starts?

Although, the former does make sense with the term "momentary." All I know is that I had to change some IA's on my MFC to momentary to control my external looper, and it works in the "traditional" non-hold way. Pages 25-27 of the manual are helpful.

You can choose either style with a momentary switch & the MFC (or Axe-FX pedal jacks). It's just one more option than with an actual latching switch.
