Blending in fx loop to signal chain

Is there a way to use an expression pedal to blend in the pedals connected in the FX loop? I currently engage the loop (and mute the amp block) on a per scene basis. Instead of going either full on AX amp tone OR SY synth tone; I want to instead be able to control a blend of the two. Like, 80/20 of synth to guitar tone perhaps.

Dont have an AX8 (have the XL) But cant you use a volume block and attach a modifier to the output level.
Put this either before the FX loop send or after the fX loop return (depending on what else you might want in the effect line/signal, to be attenuated or 'blended')

I think what I am going to do instead is just configure the loop as always on, then configure my SY's on/off switch to mute the SY. I can use the Out 2 knob (fx level) and volume knob on ths SY to balance the volumes between the two.
