Best rack valve amp to use with Axe

I've decided to stick with a valve amp+cab for amplifying my AFX. I was wondering what the options are besides continuing to use the FX return of my 3/100. The likelihood of me coming across a used VHT 50/50 in the UK is almost zero, so how do the Marshall EL34 50/50 and Mesa rack amps fare? Anything else I shold consider?

midi controllable channel switching if you use it mono. go from 6L6's to EL34's with a tap of the foot.

I use a Mesa 50/50 with great results.. PM me if you have questions...

I think I'm going to get one of those VHIIs for my CS Strat. They seem to clean up really well. My stock pickup sounds muddy as hell.
