Best metal tone ive heard from a standard

There's nothing staggering unique about their tones. Pick the right IR for one. It's the biggest thing to improve (or destroy) your tone. Something with V30's will get you in the ball park. The other thing to consider is that the tones that you're hearing have been EQ'd and probably mixed and mastered. You will NEVER get a mastered tone out of ANY amp or Axe Fx for that matter. It all take selective EQ and shelving to get that tight metal tone.

Im thinking 808-das metal-mesa 4X12 xl with V 30s to start.
 
Anyone. Have any advise on what amp/ cab/mic to start with?

My above post is based on nothing but a wild guess.

My standard should arrive this week so id like to hit the ground running.
