Best headache-free recording of audio (backing track + live AxeFx guitar on Ableton) & video (QT)

Hello,
I just started a course at Berklee Online, which requires for assignments to be submitted with audio+video.

Format:
Audio source: Ableton (backing track + live guitar using an Axe Fx)
Video source: Can either be my Macbook webcam through Quicktime, or another method (I have iMovie)

What I am trying to mitigate is spending hours on syncing audio and video, which I am not good at (unless you have a tutorial you recommend)..

Thanks for any suggestion. Need that ASAP

On a mac, ScreenFlow works great. Just click the 'record computer audio' and use the AxeFx usb. They may have a trial version.

Quicktime will record the internal mic only as far as I know. You might be able to use something like AudioHijack Pro to record Ableton and sync in iMovie.

Cant you just record direct using the USB into something like Reaper? Then layer it onto the muted version of your live playing?
