Berlin No More Words 80s ish tone

Does anyone know how to get this 80s tone. Best example is between the 2:04 and 2:10 mark. I hear it on several 80s songs like the top gun theme, roxette, etc...
I cant figure out the amp model but I here tons of compressed chorus I believe. Any help would be much appreciated. I have joined an 80s retro band so this tone is important......
 
One thought is the Brit 800...I feel its a good amp between being tame & a beast. I have used it on Run To You, the dirty rhm part. The song is from 1984.
 
I am thinking a jmp-1 preamp model and a smaller speaker IR. Almost sounds like they used something like a JMP-1 with the speaker emulator engaged
 
I agree with compressed with chorus. That was common in those days along with lots of EQ. Could be a Rockman. JPM wasn't born in 1984 but it might be a good place to start.
