Axe2 USB Freeze up / Garageband / Mac

Hey fellow axe2 users

Any Ideas on this? My 2010 macbook pro freezes up when trying to choose Axe2 as the Audio IN on system preferences running OS 10.6.3. Tested on Garage Band which does recognize when the axe2 is plugged in (system message stating Midi input has changed from 0 to 1) but doesn't show it as a selectable audio input. Ive installed the Audio drivers on the support page and rebooted the laptop and axe2 multiple times. Tried using another cable
Tried using Reaper as well and it also froze when trying to choose Axe2 as the audio in. I don't think ive 'force quit' this many times on a mac before lol

Oddly enough, AxeEdit works fine and im able to edit patches with no problem

I checked other threads but it doesn't seem there's a definite fix for this.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

If there's an update available for your Snow Leopard then try that. That fixed a somewhat similar problem I had (Axe-Fx II Audio In was not appearing among my default inputs, despite Axe-Edit recognizing my Axe).

Yep, You might have to update Garageband. It works pretty flawlessly in my Lion.
