The MkII does NOT have firewire support. But it comes with a PCI card which will allow you to interface it with your computer.

This thing will do everything you need it to though, Cuemix and all.
 
Damn it... it won't do me justice then, I only have a macbook pro 2010 model. Thanks for the info though, i really appreciate the help!

I don't know about this. I have a MOTU 828mkII and it has firewire 400 and no PCI card at all. Supports cuemix as well. Maybe the older versions are like mine and the newer one comes with PCI card?

I only use it as a mic preamp for recording vocals through the axe. Works like a charm.
