Axe-Fx II XL recording

Hi all, im new into this forum. I have question, i have trouble when im recording my guitar using axe fx

my kind of setup

guitar->axe fx->focusrite 2i2-> cubase.

1-do i need di box to record and can please help what is the setup
2-doing recording, the sound is different when im playing. When recording, the clarity is long gone suddenly.
3-how can i improve my recording on axe fx setup
4- using direct axe fx or going through focusrite 2i2 is better?

1 - No
4 - With the 2i2 you are using all the input you have so IMHO you are gaining nothing by using it. Only additional A/D conversion that you don't need. I would just use the AXE FX as an interface. Especially if (I think) you are IOS then you can use the 2i2 for something else?
