when i open the files they are just blank and ask me to use my browser to search for unknown file. even the read me is like that so what is wrong?

You should be able to open the ZIP file with any unzip software, and then you should have the firmware file along with 4 PDFs or so. The SYX file should just be imported using Fractal Bot.

it is pc. and i tried unzipping it and still gave me the same files

Once it's unzipped you don't open the file. You use FractalBot to send the .syx file to the Axe Fx.
