Axe fx as audio interface. clipping question

Hey all, I searched a bit and found a few solutions to my issue but nothing as specific as what I got so I thought I'd ask here.

I recently switched out my RME babyface interface and I'm using the axe-fx as the sole interface for recording in Logic. It's working great except for one thing.
On this mix I have I had the max output peak at -0.30 which with the RME never gave any indication of clipping yet with the axe-fx it clips the out 1 pretty hard. I know I could just set the mastering limiter I was using to a lower limit but since this worked on the RME and it's definitely not clipping in Logic I'm wondering why the Out 1 clip is lighting up red.

Any ideas or thoughts are very much appreciated :)
 
yeah, that's where it seems to stop clipping. I could just ignore the light if it's just a warning or something but if it means it's actually clipping I'd like to understand why since it is still below 0.00 dbfs.
