Axe Fest West Coast 2012 Video Comments Thread

This way we can keep all the videos in a clutter free thread making them easier to access. I embed the Vimeo hosted video and also provide a YouTube link the all the vids as they become available here.

There are not enough words to thank all those who helped make these videos possible. I’ll do my best.

Jack ‘videovis” Donaldson – Stood behind two cameras all weekend long and has spent countless hours editing multiple video and audio sources to bring these gems to you. What a blessing for all of us!

Scott Burrow – Spent the entire weekend helping man cameras and anything else needed to get the footage.

Scott Isaksen & Sean “javajunkie” Strickland – Tirelessly ran the mixing board and camera audio feeds for the whole event.

Lawrence “groovenut” Petross – Provided music for the opening splash screens. All created on the Axe II by the way.

Sean Lavery – Helped Jack run the second camera when not snapping off some tasty B&W still pictures seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tableausol/8075942226/

All the presenters, artists, and attendees who have been nothing short of amazing in their patience and understanding while lending hands wherever needed. It was truly a group effort and the success of the event and documentation is a testament to ALL!

Here is the first video from Axe Fest West Coast 2012.

Mark Day kicked off the event early Saturday with Ozzy and Journey covers. As always he totally rocked it and made it look oh so simple. What a way to start the weekend! You can get a sense for how the two days unfolded in my thanks thread here: http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii-discussion/58856-axe-fest-west-2012-my-takes-thanks.html

Tomorrow we will follow up with releases of Scott Peterson’s and James Santiago’s presentations. This weekend, after additional editing and approvals we will try to release Wes Hauch’s and Lawrence “groovenut” Petross’s contributions. From then on we will keep releasing the presentations/performances one by one as they go through their editing and buyoff process.

Jack "videovis" Donaldson volunteered to help us video the event and worked the entire weekend coordinating, directing, and shooting the festivities. Scott Burrow also put in many hours at the event filming. Jack has tirelessly worked on editing the many hours of footage taken from three cameras and audio from several sources. All who enjoy these vids owe these guys BIG TIME. I really had no idea how time consuming the whole process was/is. Jack, you are a saint! Huge respect from me my friend!

Enjoy!

Tosin Abasi - Axe Fest West Coast 2012 performance and discussion on how he uses the AxeFx II in the studio and live. Tosin runs his Axe II through a Port City amp and cab and our original video did not do justice to his performance since we didn't mic the cab. So we took the recorded raw guitar feed and re-amped through the Axe II using IR's captured with the Axe II by Fractal Forum member Sean Ashe using his Port City Cab. How cool is that?
