Axe Edit Will not start even though specs seem correct..?

This is for a friend…

He has an older mac but he is running 10.6.8 and Axe Edit 3.1.8 and it says "you can't open the application Axe Edit because it is not supported on this type of Mac". Just curious why if he is running what was recommended (10.6.8 or newer) it is not working. Is there some other specs that have to be met that are not mentioned?
 
Is it not an Intel-based Mac? Or possibly not a 64-bit Intel Mac? Why is your friend on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard? That was released in July 2011. He really ought to update his OS X.
 
I agree he should get a newer computer... it is older Seems like he said it was about a 2006 iMac . It probably is not intel or 64 bit. Did the specs say you had to have that?
