Axe Edit version nag

I rolled back to 17.04 and the corresponding version of AE (3.1.4) and now every time I open AE it nags me about a newer version available (3.1.9) which is not compatible with 17.04. When did this start and how can it be stopped? I looked in the preferences for a setting but don't see anything.

Yes, this is annoying...I noticed it myself. Would be nice if we had the option to turn it off in settings.
