axe edit now not seeing my axe fx 2?

ok i am on a mac.went to plug my boss expression pedal in for the first time ...opened axe edit and it is not connecting? yes its on..yes i checked the usb..yes it worked before.funny thing is i can go into system preferences and select my axe fx for my audio stuff and it plays my computer audio out to my monitors just fine.i dont get it.????
 
redownloaded my driver and editor and still nothing.....i turn off the axe and there is nothing in my audio pref. that says axe fx so editor just isnt seeing it.
 
ok got it.i had to go into the editor under settings.then i went into midi settings and on the first page i changed midi in and out to none and closed.then i went back in and turned them both one and it came up.
