Axe-Edit and a touch screen PC?

Hi Everyone,

I have been considering getting a new computer mainly as a dedicated unit for my Axe-Fx II (mostly firmware updates and Axe-Edit interface). My curiosity has been piqued by these new touch screen monitors. I was curious how the screens react with Axe-Edit. Can you control all the know and switches by touching the screen or does that still need to be done via a mouse.

I'm also considering something like a MS Surface but I think I would like something with a larger screen size.

If anyone has any experience with these devices, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,
Stan

I haven't tried it personally, but there are Surface users in the beta team who have said it works well. The OS makes the app think it's a mouse click and move when you touch the screen so it should "just work" for the most part. It's a tempting combination: a Surface and Axe-Edit. Especially given how cheap Surface's are. And this is coming from a HARD CORE Apple user here! :D

The touch screen for me is great for switches, bypassing, saving, ect. but not so good for changing values, for this I prefer the key pad. I tap the local(on screen) and then enter the value with the keyboard and then hit enter

Just curious about your statement regarding value changes. Do you feel there just isn't enough granularity via a sweeping motion or is there some other undesirable interaction? I know from my current setup that often I prefer just click/select a value and type it in. It's just easier for me that way. That being said, maybe a touch screen is the perfect candidate for me!
