Axe and FRFR / CLR Users ........ " None " -or- " Null " for your Cab ?

Since so many ir's have the mic baked in, I usually choose none and occasionally use de-phase on about 2

Null is my usual pick. If the cab needs a little more low end thump, I'll dial in a bit of proximity. Null w/ proximity at zero is the same as None, AFAIK.

Hey all

Curios ..... for those of you/us running youe Axe 2 with Power Amp Sim and Speaker Sim " on " ..... do you mainly stick with " None " or " Null " [ or a specific Mic ( ? ) ] for your Cab ?

Ben
as suggested in the other posts, if you want the option to add more bass frequencies, set it to Null. keeping Proximity at 0 is the same as selecting None, but you are ready to increase it later if you want.

I avoid any additional artificial coloration to the IR. I want to keep it as direct as possible in the cab block, so I always set it at none.

Be careful when you audition "null".

The default proximity is 5. That is almost always way too much.

So if you flip from "none" to "null" your first impression will be a bass heavy mess.

I find proximity between 1-2 to be more pleasing than depth in the amp block; depending on the amp model etc.
