Ax8 or fx8

so I had a axefx 2 and sold it a few years ago because I prefer a real 4x12 feel and couldn’t find a power source I cared for. (Too bad fractal doesn’t have a model with a power amp built in)

Anyways,I’m looking at a fx8 to run 4cm with a head/cabinet.
Would there be an advantage for me to buy the ax8?
I wouldn’t be running it into a PA.
You can’t tone match with it.

Can it handle more fx at once?


I’m pretty sure I’m going fx8 but thought I’d ask

4cm FX8 is way better. AX8 may handle a little more FX at once, but it won't interface as well 4cm

One more question
Why is there no preset section in the forum for the fx8

Because everybody is using a different amp with different natural compression and dirt levels, so you would have to have the same amp with the same settings for the drive, for example, to work in the same manner as it does for them - it wouldn't translate well. You can steal blocks from other AX8 or AxeFx II presets using Fractool and importing them with FX8 Edit.
