Wish Authentic Flanger/Phaser controls

stink

Experienced
Wish: Authentic Flanger/Phaser type controls just like we have for amplifiers. The advanced pages can obviously remain the same. Would make things easier to dial in when trying to mimic certain pedals. Just a thought.

Amp controls? Authentic? They’re not authentic if you’re talking about matching knob positions. Cliff covered this in No Two Amps Sound the Same - Fact or Fallacy.

The same situation exists in pedals, the tolerances in the pots and components make the resulting sound different if you use your eyes and put the knobs in identical positions, leading to the statement to use your ears, not your eyes.

Why your amp doesn't sound like the model is related to this.

The end result is that if Cliff models an amp or pedal, it’s based on his own instance of the amp or pedal, so it won’t necessarily match yours exactly. But the sounds are in there if we turn the knobs.

If you’re talking about matching the labeling for the controls, it’s probably not something that will happen because manufacturers often differ in their nomenclature and Fractal would have to waste time, effort, and memory to accommodate every variation. And, some companies bury equivalent controls inside the pedal that others have exposed to the user on the front or top of the unit. Chasing those differences is not really efficient when it’s a small company.

Part of the issue is the range of adjustment for several parameters is not the same compared to the real pedals. The Fractal model of many effects typically has a wider range, so the pot settings won't match.

I think I’m being misunderstood, I mean if the pedal simply has depth and speed, then authentic layout has simply depth and speed; the amp models all have this type of layout. The advanced pages can stay as is. That is all I meant.
it's certaonly somrthing I hear "complaints" about in conversations about the Axe very often. mostly coming from L6 users who are used to "authentic" controls only. I definitely wouldn't want to miss the deep dive options, but I can understand the point as it can be a bit overwhelming for some to be blasted with a huge amount of controls while all they wantd to do was to quickly dial in a Phase 90 ;) ...

Not a L6 user by any means, been Fractal’d up since 2009, but it would be a nice option as a top layer on doing a deep dive.

no,no, didn't mean to imply that. just something I've come across frequently when talking to other guitar players. actually, just the other day a student of mine chose a L6 unit over the VP for that exact reason....

It would just be a nice addition
