Misha Mansoor announced on FB he's sent presets to fractal, so i think they will show up "very soon" !

Don't see any logic in being "against" that.

Well, for starters, there isn't any reason to believe they'd sound good played with another guitar. Especially in the high gain dept where the presets are pretty awful with what I'm using for exemple.

Many times presets don't translate well with different guitars, cables and sound reproduction equipment. If you had the EXACT same setup as was used when the preset was created, then sure.

To answer what is a Vai preset worth? Well Eventide was selling upgrade ROMs for the H3000S for $400 back in the day.

I was kind of expecting some negative vibes, but, as some have pointed out we already have some artist presets so it's not a complete non starter. There are some very valid reasons why it wouldn't work, not least the difficulty in accounting for variations in equipment used which the AFX does seem particularly sensitive to, probably due to the modeling process being much more realistic and therefore more transparent. Think I'll check out Fremen's patches, he seems to be one of those guys who intuitively knows how to program the AFX and get some great tones from it.
