Anyone Tried Using These Transformers?

My bass player tried them between his pedal board and amp. Everything sounded a lot smoother, warm, sat in the mix better. He was using two of them in series. I was getting ready to try them out on my Fractal then a storm came, and the power went out for 7 hours.

That's because even the best of 1:1 transformers will reduce the amount of high frequencies for instrument level signals.

Color me skeptical about magic, black-box pedals where even the reviewers can't explain what it's doing in words. It's either making things louder or rolling off top end or both. I suggest you can accomplish the same with an EQ pedal.

Ooooh, didn't know it had that feature. That's why I wanted to post this. Fractal gear has so many options and features, I figured there was something in there that would do this. Thanks. I'll give this a try.

Is the smoothness and warmth from the mid boost you've dialed in? My understanding of the preamp type parameter is that it only affects the drive and saturation that you dial in.

These transformers are supposed to make things sound better by going into saturation mode and creating 3rd and 5th order harmonics. Also transformers can cause clipping somewhat like a tube amp. Then there's some hysteretics involved and how it effects tone. I'm not an electrical engineer but transformers can have a significant effect on audio. I'll try what Piing suggested but was also wondering if anyone has tried these things or other similar products.
