Anyone know how to make this sound?

Here's a video of a tone i'm looking for - the first 5 seconds is all you need. It's an 'electrical' kind of tone, like electricity shooting out of a nozzle (or something).

Is this a pedal or just the right pre/post EQ with amp distortion? Doable with the AFX?

They mentioned a pedal in reference to the 'electrical' sounding instrument later in the video (might be bass or guitar - not sure - either way OK). He called it a 'sputnik' pedal.

Cool. I'll give it a shot. Thanks. If the gate on/off time can be set to almost instant that would be great. The gate on/off can go down to 1ms., so that might be fast enough for 'sputnik' like stuff.

Compression plus fuzz plus bit crusher plus fuzz ?
Quite convinced its done on bass, not enough harminics in there for a guitar. Or with a very low set crossover filter ?

Try not using an amp block.

IIRC it was mostly a bit crusher DRV block which has a natural sort of gating/sputter thing on it because of the aliasing it does.
