Anyone Here Put An Actual Guitar Speaker In An FRFR??

I know. Crazy talk. I want to try it.

I have a few powered FRFRs and was wondering what disabling the tweeter/horn,
and then putting something like a Creamback in one, or one of those Celestion F12X'ers?

Anyone been brave enough to try this already? If so what were your results.

I think Xitone uses a whizzer cone - not exactly a regular speaker. I had something built that you could switch off the tweeter by another company and that was ok as well. He built me an open back cab with a full range speaker but no horn as well. That was good as well. It darkened it up a but without adding mushy bass. I did end up selling all of it....it was kind of having to recreate presets only for those two and in the end it was just easier to either use FRFR or a cab and create one preset that could bypass the cab block if I was using a real cab. Good idea though, just not for me.

Geoff from Raezer's Edge does a lot of those kinds of things and he is reasonable. He will make you anything you want for sure.
