any thoughts on when the Axe-FX III might be released?

When would their have been time to work on the III between the founders newborn child and all the work that has gone into the firmware updates? The firmware upgrades have not been insignificant.
 
as the axe2 has 2no. tigersharc processors, and those are still the best available for the application, an upgrade on the current model might be dependent on future dsp development.

AFAIK, there have been better processors (6 or 8 core) out there for quite a while now.
But since they are from another company, Cliff would have to PAINSTAKINGLY rewrite a whole bunch of stuff.
At some point, you just don't wanna bother.
I don't see an Axe III with 3 of the current processors, so I'm thinking there is a chance there may not even be an Axe III...
Why would we need it anyway? You'll just run out of something again and again. Might as well stop now... ;)
Or have "Axe III" as an amp unit, IR unit and an FX unit. Back to Huge Racks ;)
