I'm 1.5hrs outside of central London, but I have an XL that I'm happy to let them use if no AX8s are available.
 
So sorry to hear about this but my policy is to Never, Ever, EVER leave gear in your car unless you are physically watching it!!! Being lazy or too trusting that you're in a safe area is a recipe for disaster!!
 
I agree with Livstone.

I always hide anything that could look valuable. I do it before I get to the parking.

I never, ever, operate things that will stay in the car's trunk when I'm already at the parking.

I never leave heavy things in the trunk.

Of course, unless I'm watching the car.

I'm almost paranoid with it.

It so sad these things happen...
