"amp room" instead of presets

I'm very indecisive and overwhelmed with everything the Axe can do...

Does anyone have their Axe patches set up like an "amp room" instead of individual presets?
I'm thinking instead of having it set up with different presets with effects and all...
settling it up for recording... have no plans to use the axe outside of the studio much

for example... simple patches with just the amp and cabs>maybe one amp going into 2 stereo cabs and using different cab/mic combinations to simulate 4 mono outputs and with little effects or reverb (or with effects but all bypassed and added accordingly to taste)
Mostly organized by amp type and cabs...

any thoughts/ideas/incite on this?

I think while recording it would be set up a little better for me... I spend more time taking off or changing reverb and delay settings on presets than i do recording...and spent too much time scrolling around looking for the kind of sound i'm looking for...jumping all over the place...

...I don't know...random thoughts

All very possible, and many ppl use it that way.
There are no rules, just use it however you see fit.
