Amp Channels A,B,C & D sound different

I am starting with an empty preset and loading up an amp block (specifically Band Commander) .

When I switch between the channels (A,B,C,D) they ALL sound pretty different.

Shouldn't they sound identical?
What am I missing?

Thanks for any insight.

I'm not sure what you're doing but when I load up Band Commander Amp model on a EMPTY preset.

Channel A is Band-Commander
Channel B, C, D is 1959SLP Normal

However once I change to another EMPTY preset and add amp block then all ABCD channels do show up as Band-Commander. However all settings look identical so they should sound the same (i don't have all of my stuff turned on to test sound right now).

I'm not clear on the difference between what you did in these two scenarios.

In any case...
  • If you set one amp channel to a particular amp and don't change the other channels, that'll still be on whatever amp is the default.
  • If you set all 4 amp channels to the same amp with the same settings, they should sound the same.
I've never seen any other behavior for either of those two cases.

Each channel is completely independent. They can be four different amps. If you want to make them all the same click on the dropdown near the channel selector in the bottom left of the editor and select "copy channel A to all channels."

Note that after doing this copy operation, changes you make on one channel will not be reflected on the other channels because again each channel is completely independent. This allows you to have, for example, a clean amp on channel A, the same amp gained up more on channel B, maybe a higher gain amp on channel C, etc.

It's not even that. In a blank preset, the last Amp type loaded into any channel will default into all Channels of a blank Amp block.
Didn't know that, but I suppose it's not a completely unreasonable UI design decision. If you're going to use the other channels at all, it might be right for some of them, and if you're not, it doesn't matter.

Thanks for all the reply. I think it was the other channels that were still a left over from the last preset.

I cleared all and loaded Band Commander and the problem seems to be fixed.

Thank you all!
