Amp channel switching via AX8 MIDI ... assistance needed

Sorry if this has been bought up before, but, I can't seem to find the relevant info.
FWIW, I use my AX8 in ALL situations, Direct to FOH, as a preamp in amps return, as a Pedalboard in front off amp, as Time Base FX only in amp loop.
4CM is not new to me and I can achieve this with my amp no problem.
What i haven't been able to master is 4CM with MIDI switching amp channels.
I'm not sure how to set the AX8 to talk with my Fender Machete (MIDI enabled) to switch the amp Channels.
I've read the Machete's manual and know how to get into MIDI learn mode, but think I'm missing something in the setup menu in the AX8.
I'm not strong with MIDI language, however the last MIDI switching rig i used was with the GSP1101 and it was a breeze to program.
Is someone able to help?
 
What are you trying to do to make the AX8 switch its channels?

Switch the Machete's amp channels incorporating FX in 4CM.
e.g.
Scene 1 - Amp Clean channel with AX8 reverb in loop
Scene 2 - Amp Clean channel with Drive in front & reverb in loop
Scene 3 - Amp Dirty channel with Reverb in loop
Scene 4 - Amp Dirty channel with Drive in front Delay/Reverb/EQ in loop
etc....

Yes, I've read that. Sorry but I don't understand. As mentioned above, I'm not strong with MIDI language.
Is the Machete Clean- Channel 1, Clean with Boost - Channel 2, Drive- Channel 3 ?
Does that mean PC change 1,2 & 3 on the AX8?

That depends on how your Amp works.
 
Since your amp learns the Midi commands, then yes, you can designate PC 1 for clean, 2 for x, 3 for z.

Set S1 to send PC 1
Set your Amp to learn
Change to S1 so it sends PC1
Exit Learn mode
Set the next Scene for whatever Amp channel you want,
Repeat.

Follow the directions in your Amp’s Manual.
