All views, experiences and opinions much wanted - Matrix GT-800 vs. GT-1000

User of the gt1000fx here. Got a killer deal on the Fryette power station and am switching over, but the matrix is a GREAT amp for the axe. You've got to set your speaker page correctly for your cab, and you've got to turn the matrix all the way up and control the volume with the axe output to REALLY get the feel right. But it definitely doesn't sound scooped or under powered to me. It's loud and has plenty of volume before you get into speaker damage territory. There is really no need to use bridged mono. One stereo side will put out enough power to make you as loud as the meanest drummer.

Used my AX8 and Matrix GT1000 FX 2U last weekend at a gig for the first time. A little scary as it was the first time for both and I have been using tube amps live for 7+ years. I used a Carvin Legacy 412 w/greenbacks and it sounded great. The feel was there and it sounded terrific. Really clean if that makes sense in comparison to my tube rig.
