Added my U2 presets to Axe-Change

The updates to the flanger block also allowed me to get pretty close to the A3 preset when I was A/B'ing - The flanger block in the A3 alone without the envelope filter block on almost does like a filtering whoosh that I can't quite get dialed in to behave the same. But when I listen to all the versions of Mysterious ways - Edge's sound differs a lot.... so I'm not losing any sleep over the slight difference. For myself, the feel and sound is so close I don't miss the A3 at all. It's just kinda fun to A/B the axe and the A3 to see how the effect parameters correlate or not and what parameters in the A3 are baked into the effect algorithm that you can't adjust. I love all the options in the Axe Fx - never gets boring haha

Hello, is it possible to use the Mysterious Ways preset in the fm3? Perhaps it’s too much cpu? Is there a way to look at the patch to see the various parameters just using the fm3 and then adjust accordingly? Thank you.

I’m not sure how the FM3 and Axe 3 work together, I think you can just try it?

Presets were mostly made with "the edge stratocaster" and some were made with my 74 Les Paul Custom - but I've used both to play and they both work for the most part...

There is an older channel on youtube called U2 Guitar Tutorials. Is that your channel? I am looking for a patch for Still Haven't Found. That channel demo of the song sounded great but it's for the Ultra which I can't seem to convert to Axe3/FM3

This should be the preset I used on the II, you should be able to convert it to the III. Can't remember what the delay is set at, but for I Still, it should be, dotted-8th, 445 ms.

fractool isnt bringing over the amp or cab for some reason. Mentions cab bundles. Will still keep trying. Sounded great in the clip. Would love to get it working.

Fractool shows the amp is a TB model but it doesnt bring it in. I can't tell what cabinet it is....it resets it to the default Pig model. I could probably recreate it if you have have the cab and amp settings. Don't want to make you go through too much work here.
 
I'm not quite used to this strat so excuse some slop. Had to add some high cut on my setup and this is on the FM3 but I also have the Axe fx 3 but it would be the same sound. Just not as convenient to mess with my AX3 at the moment.

The chime is definitely there. Might need a bit more mids, then again, it depends what version you listen to over the last 33 years. As for the playing, just need to try and stay on top of the delay. That's the part that people who don't consider Edge to be a really good guitar player, figure out when they try to play using a delay with 4 repeats. I was fortunate, in that his style is what drove me to learn to play the guitar at 41 (15 years ago now) ahile to figure that part out. The delay becomes the time keeper, not the drummer. :)

There are many great U2 guitarist on this forum and over on U2GT, Edo, Phil, Michael and Mick, to name a few, who have been so helpful to me over the years. Here's a great video of Mick, who plays in the U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire, demonstrating what I mean about the delay. Notice as well the staccato picking. A lot of the tone also comes from Herdim pick, which Edge holds sideways.

yea, something I don't mess with often so I'd have to play it all the time to get there, but this will work for the one song and with the entire band behind me it will gel better as well
