I just picked up a Gretsch 5422 and I wanted to make a patch that has some crunch when the volume is full on, then cleans up when I roll the volumes off. In general I'm pretty pleased with it, but I feel like I have to roll of just a bit too much volume, to lower the gain. On the other hand, if I lower the gain, then I don't have quite enough to my liking when the volume is all the way up.
As for the Drive, I'm not totally happy with that, What I want is something fairly colorless, which will just and a little more gain and a little more volume, for solos.
The Wah is engaged with my FAS Expression pedal
The Filter is null, as a volume boost, engaged with an external switch. This is for clean solos. (Volume rolled off)
This is going into a Mixer, for use with FOH.
I'd really appreciate if if another Gretsch player tried this and offered an opinion.
