Wish 6CA7 Plexi with s/n # 12301 specs ….

Yeah there's always a point of diminishing returns when trying to copy things like this. At some point the player becomes the biggest variable.

I know nobody wants to hear it but these small changes barely matter, any Plexi in the AxeFx will do.
Eddies tone was all in his fingers. ie. excellent sense of rhythm and flawless playing.

You are missing the point. I don't want to sound like Eddie. I would love to play through his rig as me.

Btw. I sound totally different on different guitars and I totally sound different on different amps and different pedals, depending on what inspires me. I sound terrible and certain rigs and I sound pretty good on others. So even me don't sound the same.

I love plexis, however I like the Atomica and Cameron the most out of the plexis in the Axe-Fx III. They have a certain reactivity that I like. They are more percussive than the others imo and they were designed after Eddie's taste and specs for some degree. Seems like I like what he liked and I think it's natural to wonder, what would a plexi sound like that was based on his plexi's specs and was designed by Cliff. I know we have the Brit Brown, but not sure how much was it based on specs. Comparing it to Atomica and Cameron amps, not much.

So yes, +1 for Eddie's plexi.

Just so we're straight, you would turn down a chance to play through Ed's rig because you would sound like you?
I would not... I would crank it and wail! :D

However, it's my opinion that people get way too caught up in trying to exactly match the gear their heros played mostly because they think it's going to make them sound the same - and it's not.

I'm not against another model but personally I'd prefer something we don't already have 10 variants of.
