4CM seems noisy?

Axe Fx II XL used 4CM with EVH 5150 III. Using Humbuster cables and just seems noisy. Thoughts and tips?
 
Turn pads up +6 & make sure vol 1 is maxed. Vol 2 will be your master.
Also try a noise gate immediately after the loop block

Actually, volume 2 on the front panel is the send to you amps input. I would use volume 1 for a master. I always leave both full up & control overall level with an expression pedal. And yes, it is still pretty noisy even with hum buster cables.
 
Ok...messed around with EVH in 4CM at lunch. Tips helped, but just prefer the Axe Fx II amp modeling better. Axe Fx II is quieter and actually more dynamic! EVH is for sale.
 
I found the same thing; the noise that is, and humbusters fixed that issue no problem.

As Flash said, definitely have a GATE after the FX Loop block.. This practically silenced my hi-gain tones amazingly..

AND, I'm gonna do the same thing with my EVH 5153 50w over the weekend and see how that compares..
