4CM is great, no doubt. I've used it quite a bit but now just run straight to power amp and cab(s). Initially my power amps were a pair of EVH 50w heads, now I use a Powerstage 700. I was able to get the tones I loved from my favorite settings on my favorite amps* using onboard models so now I just do that. But 4CM is pretty fun and it can be tricky getting the tones of some non-modeled amps** so I completely understand using it.
