I've been wanting for some time now to use the 4CM with my Ultra and SLO but have not been able to. This is my last attempt before the Ultra goes up for sale.
I solved the ground loop issue but the noise floor/hiss is unbearable. In searching the forum I came across a post where Cliff indicated noise is the nature of the beast when combining A/D conversions, line-level outputs, and gain staging but I can't understand why some people are having issues with hiss when others aren't. It's not as if there are multiple ways to hook it up this way.
I tried a gate block but it has to gate too aggressively in order to quell the noise. Am I SOL if I want to use the 4CM?
