As I'm getting slowly ready to record again, I'm planning my strategy. How to deal with the Axe-FX unless you have a good A/D converter.
Fractal says to rely on the DAW's converter, but that means I've got to record to one ProTools 48kHz session, and then import it into a 96 kHz session where my true mix is. That's just a little annoying. Either that, or I find myself having to spring $1500 on an Apogee Rosetta, which seems such a waste.
Or I could go in Analog, but now I'm relying on the Mbox's uninspiring converters.
This is where it is, right? No better solutions anyone's found?
Also, as an aside, I have the Mbox 1. If anyone knows of improvements with the MBox 2's converters, please let me know.
