4 cable method question

has anyone tried running an amp model (of course the power amp modeling is off) instead of a drive pedal?
I'm curious as to how a ....let's say a mark IV amp model into the clean channel of my amp would sound.

Yep, do it all the time, there's a coupe of threads on this, do a search and you'll find Lots of good Info - it works equally well whether you run the "drive pedal amp" into a Real amp or into another amp block in the Axe

excellent! just tried it with the Recto Vintage Orange into my Clean channel.
Interesting. Does anyone know if the any of the Marshall amp models are voiced completely differently from the JVM?
I'd love to get more of a Plexi type of tone or a JMP1 MKII sound out of this thing when the mood strikes me.
I guess I'm going to have to experiment with all of the different drive blocks VS the amp models.
I basically run OD1 Orange 90% of the time I use my JVM. I had it modded so it sounds more vintage (like the OD1 on the 410H)
and the negative Feedback mod I did puts it on a pot so I can turn it way up and get very punchy and open.
