22 Fret Super Strats

Lol... I’ll bet it does play good though. Why’d you have to go and do that?? He plays a Fender too

The Andersons are indeed fine guitars. I have 2 Suhr guitars that are my main gigging tools. I have a Modern and a Classic. Both excellent guitars. They are very different, but then that's the point idinit.

Anderson and Suhr certainly if you have the dosh

I just picked up a (brand new full guarantee) 2016 Charvel San Dimas Pro-Mod FR (2 humbuckers and 3 way blade switch - push/pull coil tap - 2 piece maple board, wagon wheel truss rod at end of fretboard, Floyd etc) in a gloss finish. Very impressed with it and it's probably a third of the price a secondhand Anderson or Suhr.

Would I prefer a Suhr or Tom Anderson? Yes Do I feel I'm missing out on something by owning the Charvel? No

As this guitar was bought to play live with, would I be desperately unhappy if I dinged the Suhr/Anderson? Yes!

Same question for Charvel? Not really

I grabbed this Charvel (MIJ) a few weeks ago used at a local shop for $600. Immediately fell in love with the neck. The fret board is rolled and super comfy. Added a "stutter" switch and its a blast to play.

Thanks for all the input, did a lot of looking around. I decided I liked the recessed floyd better than the top mounted floyd so went Pro Mod. Eventually I wound up with this incoming this Wednesday - Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas - charcoal ash with ebony board. Rolling the dice here, I don't like to buy something I haven't played, hoping its a good one.

That's the one I'm talking about. The only small gripe I have with it is I'd prefer a push/push pot for the coil splitting .... if you've got a handful of whammy bar at the time then trying to pull up the vol pot in a hurry is quite awkward.

I could see that - not sure how much I would use coil tap anyway - I bought this to throw down some high gain hair metal. \m/

I think you'll be surprised by the tapped tones. The pots clean up well. From what I've read, Charvels are a safe bet when it comes to buying without playing.
