2 amp blocks, 1 to each cab?

Hey guys, just a simple questions. Say i wanted a patch with 2 amps. For instance, a boosted recto, and the "das metal" amp. If I have 2 4x12s (REAL 4x12s :D) or a stereo 4x12, how would you send each amp to each cab? For instance, i wanted the recto through my VHT 4x12, and the das metal coming through my EV cabinet loaded with 4 EVM12L BLS 300 watt speakers...Thanks!

You need a stereo power amp.

Split the routing into two paths.
Each has an amp sim. Pan one left and one right.
Route the signals from the outputs L/R to separate channels of the power amp.
Connect the power amp channels to the 4x12s.

Where would you pan them? The amp block? The Cab block? Both? How about effects? pan those as well?
I started off panning all of the above but was not digging the tone. I got better tone panning the amps hard left and right and cabs as well but would get clipping very easily.
