I'm routing my axe through a mixer and I have a question about the 0dB point on the meter that I have never been able to grasp. I'm talking about the 0dB on an LED meter you normally see on mixers that goes up in scale value to 12+ or so to a clip point (a Behringer Rx1602 for ex.). My question is, does that mid scale 0 dB LED relate specifically to the reference level 0dBu (a reading of 0 dB means .775 volts are being output) --- OR does 0 dB mean that the output is at .316V (line level reference of -10 dBV) / 1.23V ((line level reference of +4dBu)?
