Cool that it has both spdif in and out to facilitate being a before or after extension to Ax3/FM9/VP4 or an after extension to FM3.

congrats Fractal team it looks great!

I hope the UI consolidation helps accelerating some quality of life improvements to both am4 and vp4 platforms - like being able to select the footswitch modes (fxs, scenes etc) via midi
 
I havnt seen this answered anywhere, does the am4 require an amp block in every preset or can you run only effects if you choose?

This is pretty exciting. I love the integrated "amp/cab/boost" block. I love the integration of the cab block inside the amp. I wouldn't complain if that got ported over to FM9 (although it's dedicated 'AMP' CPU might be an issue).

There's still much to read up on, but I could picture myself using this as my daily driver for gigs. Lord knows I could stand to streamline my rig and my approach. Heck, it looks like it's time to sell my Tonex and a few other things (that I've been dragging around as a backup to my FM9).

Don't know if that would make much sense. CPU is used either way. And a standalone Cab block allows for more flexibility. It makes sense though for the AM4.
 
Hmm!! I have an overseas tour next year and was thinking of picking up a used FM3, really no point now as I can get one of these for the same price (if not cheaper) brand new - any idea when they will hit the UK?
